NABA presented the Norwegian experience in Africa at the Afrika Verein der Deutschen Wirtschaft?s and EBCAM?s conference ?Europe and Africa: what are our neighbors doing and what is the role of the EU?? in Berlin Thursday 8 November.
Mr. Phillippe Loop, Head of Unit for Private Sector Development, Trade and Regional Integration gave a presentation on the current EU policy. Mr. Fernando Matos Rosa, Secretary General of the European Business Council for Africa and the Mediterranean (EBCAM) where NABA is a member, presented EBCAM?s work and network in Africa. Mr. John Small, Chief Executive from the Eastern Africa Association (EAA) gave an update on foreign investment in Eastern Africa, and Francisco Mantero, President of ELO Portugal, as well as Fernando Costa Lima, Director of BPI-Banco de Investimentos, presented the opportunities and experiences from Angola and Mozambique. From CBL-ACP in Belgium Mr. Michel van der Voort introduced one of CBL-ACP?s members, consultant Etienne Delbar?s recent project in DR Congo. Mr. Serdard Yesilyurt, Director of TUSKON, presented ?Turkey?s Africa Initiative?.
